I'll try to use this blog to keep track on outreach efforts and other actions related to the startup of the Tubman Nature Center.
Some recent outreach: our first table display and root beer sale June 4 at the Greensboro Fishing Derby. Sold about 30 glasses of root beer. Talked with some people and a few played the bird matching game. Monday, June 6, went to the Greensboro Historical Society meeting and listened to a talk by a docent at Adkins specializing on the Tubman UGRR story and nature, much like what we would like to do. I will try to work hard so that we can complement each other's ideas and efforts. Signed up to join the society for $20. I'm looking forward to working and interacting with these fine folks. Oh, yeah, June 2, I took in an invasive species workshop at Adkins. Met some people, learned a lot. Missy Cannon expressed interest in serving on the board. That's it for now. I'll try to post updates on a regular basis. Chris
